The proposed annexation would increase the city's land area from 7.3 square miles to 23.9 square miles and population  from approximately 9,800 to approximately 13,200.

New city hall to replace the shared city-county government complex currently in use.

The Brookhaven School District Board of Trustees meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month @ 6:00 p.m. at the school administration building, Court Street.

The Lincoln County School Board meets the first and third Monday of every month @ 5:30 p.m. at the school district office building, 233 East Monticello Street.
