The Brookhaven and Lincoln county political scene is an active and vibrant area of debate. The Current political debates include several heated areas of discussion.
The proposed annexation would increase the city's land area from 7.3 square miles to 23.9 square miles and population from approximately 9,800 to approximately 13,200.

Meeting: First and Third Tuesday of every month @ 6:30 p.m. in the city boardroom at the Government Complex.
Lincoln County Board of Supervisors
Meeting: First and Third Monday and the last weekday of every month @ 9:30 a.m. in the supervisor's boardroom at the Government Complex.
The Brookhaven School District Board of Trustees meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month @ 6:00 p.m. at the school administration building, Court Street. The Lincoln County School Board meets the first and third Monday of every month @ 5:30 p.m. at the school district office building, 233 East Monticello Street. |
